These are pretty standard pricing for a moderate staff Christmas party event once you consider venue, theming, staging and entertainment, transportation, accommodation (sometimes) and then finally F&B. That you show surprise may indicate your lack of understanding in exactly what you asked in the first place.

Christmas 2009: 19 staff members for lunch in a restaurant at Palm Beach at $225 per person = $4,275 plus cost of private bus get everyone back to our North Sydney office.

10 people at 300 per head. We did not spend all of it in the end. The $300 falls below the FBT threshhold.
